The Kerteminde rollercoaster ride - Gold Medals for Poland and Spain

Rollercoaster ride was the best description of today’s two final races of the RS:X World Championships in Kerteminde , Denmark with victory going to Poland ’s Piotr Myszka in the Men’s class and to Blancha Manchon from Spain in the Women. Despite the short medal race courses for the top 10 competitors, there were dramatic place changes in both fleets with the final podium positions fluctuating by the minute as each race progressed. Alessandra Sensini Takes The Lead

Showing that experience pays in this class, so today veteran windsurfer and quadruple Olympic medallist Alessandra Sensini from Italy pulled into the lead at the RS:X World Championships, being held at Kerteminde, Denmark. Following Wednesday’s layday, today was the first of the second round/final series with racing getting underway on time at 1100 local for the Men and Women’s Gold fleets in good breeze and sun, following a windless, overcast start to the morning. Early lead for Poland after light start to RS:X Worlds in Denmark

A shallow, slow moving depression crossing western Scandinavia, made for a challenging opening day at the RS:X World Championships in Kerteminde, Denmark. While one race was sailed for the Men’s Yellow fleet in the morning, everyone was then returned to shore and it wasn’t until mid-afternoon after a rain squall had passed through, that racing could continue. Clean Drinking Water For Olympic Athletes - And For Children of The World

At the 2010 Kerteminde RS:X World Championships in Denmark, participants have to be very careful to rehydrate after each race. So the local organisers, Sail Event Kerteminde Sejlklub have organized unrestricted quantities of fresh, clean, cool drinking water... Straight from the tap!
